Default odb2 h22a4 into an odb1 accord

A few question that im hoping to get some help answering...

What is an average and good price for a 98 H22a4 motor, tranny, ECU, and shift linkage - Ive seen people post around 4k but im not sure if that was labor included. So whats a good price for that?

I ask because i can get one for a good price...but im not sure that the price i can get it for is actually that good.

Also I know id be better off doing this swap into a 96-97 accord...but i know i can find a 94-95 for cheaper. But my question is if i make it work will i lose a substantial amount of power swapping into a 94-95 rather than a 96-97?

Lastly what would you do in my shoes...

Swap the 98 h22a4 into a 94-95 accord that you got for a cheap price?

or go with a regular h22 obd1 into a 94-95 accord?

EDIT: now that im thinking of it can i even swap a 1998 into 94-97 accord?

The best swap is a 95 [low mileage] motor into a 95 or 94 OBDI chassis. Not only is 94-95 OBDI but they are lighter [lbs] cars.

But why spend all that cash?

If you have an OBDI car, then the best option is to keep the motor OBDI too. OBDI motors are easier to install due to a smaller number of sensors and also easier to tune than OBDII motors. In your case, you would not have to buy harness to plug in the ecu; it will be plug and play.

I would get the 98 H22 motor..and just use an OBDI ecu...Yes you can swap a 98 motor into your 94-97 accord....the motor is just a motor...to make the swap easier on you however..you'll just have to utilize an obdi ecu...as for the extra sensors that come with an obdii motor..it won't matter..if you use an odbi ecu..it also won't matter if the extra sensors are there or not..because the odbi ecu wont' register them

I did some more reading and ive heard that the h22a4 swapped into the accord has a lot of problems... this true

I can get a h22a4 engine, tranny, ecu, and shift linkage for 2400 $ maybe 2g's if i can get it down, but im not so sure its worth it if theres problems arising.
