Default O2 sensor question

If I take my O2 sensor out of my header and let it hang, will my ECU run into limp mode? I just bought a wide band O2 and am curious what my A/F is? I don't want to weld the bung into that header because I will be switching it out in a month or so.

you mean let it hang while still hooked up to the plug and driving around. Not good, the ecu will see that theres too much oxygen content and dump more fuel into your engine.

Ok, what about with a Kenji ECU? I'm not sure how he sets his programs.....so I guess I have to wait until I weld the bung to a header to actually start using my wideband O2. What if I unplugged the sensor, will it go into safe mode?

Don't know which wideband you using..
on AEM, Techedge unit there is a 0-1v output for stock ecu.

The 'Mugen ECU' type programs run in Open Loop all the time, so you can use your wideband no problem...

Otherwise Weld in a Bung, bring it by...Ill do it.

It's all good, just don't want to weld a bung to header that I'll be swtiching out in a month or so.....I thought Mugen programs ran closed loop all the time? Doesn't matter, not running a Mugen program anyway.

Close Loop all the time would mean that it used to O2 Sensor even for Full Throttle, which wouldnt work because the engine wouldnt like being kept @ 14.7:1 at 100Kpa for very long. Atleast max power wouldnt be made there.
