Default Jdm or usdm Type-r.. how do I tell

The prior owner of my car told me the engine was a jdm type-r engine. However now that I look on the block I see a b18c5.. I was under the impression that the japanese engines didn't end with a number, does this mean it's actually a usdm or am I retarded?

well to my knowledge it's only a difference of 5hp, which kinda pisses of me off that I was misinformed, but usdm parts are much cheaper than jdm

all JDM motors from 1995-00 were stamped B18C...no numbers after the 'C'
Euro ITR motors are B18C6
USDM motors are B18C5
Australian motors are B18C7 (I think)

Well the one thing I really like about the JDM version over USDM is the one piece headlights. Those things look freaking sweet haha. Wish I could have that exact look on my G2.

There are one-piece JDM headlights for G2's. However it has that funky pattern on the glass. I like how the G3's are clean, it looks very clean and I haven't heard of those fogging up and getting yellow. That is why I like those, otherwise I would buy one-piece for my G2. Although, I do need to replace one headlight so maybe I can find one JDM.

JDM DA lights are infinitely cleaner than the USDM ones...The DA ones are yellowed and hazy because they can be from 1989! You gotta take them apart and refurbish them if you want them to be really clear. The patterns on the lamp aren't noticeable or anything.
