what's up with RSX a-spec performance package from Acura
I saw this on Acura's website, does anyone have any more info on this, or can point to other thread's about this package?
Thanks

Approximately $4000 extra. The kit includes shocks springs, body kit, wheels, and tires. Price does not include installation.
So, for $27000-$28000 you can have your own RSX Type-S A-Spec! What a great value considering that the DC2R was lighter, had bigger brakes, better ABS, better aero, a limited slip, more power, better transmission, stiffer suspension (including swaybars), stiffer chassis, better seats, and a better steering ratio for only $2000 more than a GS-R. But what the hey, you didn't need all that stuff anyway right? Besides for $28000 you wouldn't rather have a 350Z or RX-8 or Evo or Evo RS.
What a joke.

Looks like Honda has been outsourcing some of their latest designs to Pontiac. First the 04 S2000 "aero" styling, and now this tacky option package.
Stock RSX in the front looks sooo much better IMO.

Get your facts straight before you post. I'll compare USDM RSX-S vs USDM DC2R since you are bashing the USDM DC5-S.
Weight: Lighter by about 130 lbs, true.
Brakes:
DC2R - Front: Ventilated 11.1 in. Rear: Solid 10.2.
DC5S - Front: Ventilated 11.8 in. Rear: Ventilated 10.3in.
Power:
DC2R - 195 hp @ 8000 RPM, 130 lbs-ft @ 7500 RPM.
DC5R - 200 hp @ 7400 RPM, 142 lbs-ft @ 6000 RPM.
I'm not really sure why you say the DC2R has a better transmission, but since I've never driven then DC2R I won't comment further on that.
Again, since I've never drive then DC2R, I will not comment on your stiffer suspension opinion.
Stiffer Chassis:
https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 Yes, that's the EP3, but I'm sure the DC5 chassis would do the same.

I was actually referring to the differences between the DC2 GS-R and Type-R. What I was getting at is that the DC2R had a lot more stuff than the DC2 GS-R for only $2000 more. With the A-Spec package we get to pay twice as much for less product. If the A-Spec included a power bump, LSD, and cloth seats then it wouldn't be such a ripoff.
When you think about it, it should actually be cheaper for Honda to make the DC5R as compared to the DC2R because A) No port polishing and B) No chassis stiffening, the DC5R was the first to be designed and the lower trim levels were designed off of that.

i work for acura..i think that pricetag is outragious. There is no way acura is goin to let you part that kit out either. You either get the whole kit for 4 gs or you get nada.. i Mean you can still get the lip kit but the wheels, brakes and the wing are only sold as one. The one cool thing about the kit which isnt really that cool is that the car is goin to be registered as an (Fpr-rsx).. wowie

I was at the Seattle International Car Expo today and saw most of the cars up close and personal...got to sit in a few. The New TL felt great (didn't have a 6spd version there though
), RSX-S w/ A-spec, yes it looked great, but way too much money. Saw the HFP 04 EP and the only thing I liked about it were the rims (they were the 17inch TSX 5 spoke rims in gunmetal) and the rear wing. Rest was ugly IMO. 04 S2K was good stuff too...they also had an Imola Orange Pearl NSX there..but nobody got to sit in it. Lots of other cars there, pretty nice show overall.
