i have a 91 LS and the fan stays on after a long time even after the car has been sitting for hours what could be wrong?

 

nothig is wrong, they are cooling the engine. when driving you have the wind/air cooling the engine, thats why the fans dont run as much. but if you are sitting at a traffic light, your fans will turn on because they need to cool the engine.
same as when you turn teh car off, they are cooling the engine.

 

i don't think that's normal...
