hybrid cars pass MD state inspection???

Default hybrid cars pass MD state inspection???

would say a 90 crx dx w/ a 89 crx si engine swapped in pass a MD state inspection??? do they actually pop the hood to make sure the engine is stock??? Also, what about emissions? Any problems passing?

as long as your emissions crap is hooked up you should pass. I don't think inspection matters, I think the motor has to be newer then the car

Inspection yes. Emissions no. The motor has to be at least the same year as the car. But the rarely check the motor at the emissions station.

shouldnt be a problem at all. ive gotten h22 egs through MD inspections twice now. emissions shouldnt be a problem either provided that your car is pre- 1996 and you have a catalytic convertor. post 1996 cars often dont even get their emissions physically measured in MD, they just hook up some tool to your diagnostic port. this could be a problem if your ecu setup differs from the stock setup. the motor does not have to be the same year as the car. it simply has to be no older than the car. and BTW the guys who run the emissions stations i have been to (Columbia in particular) are usually a bunch of monkeys who dont know or care whats going on.
