i had a very "silly" argument with a friend that drives an acura [EL which is a fancy 4-door civic that was released in Canada, d16/d17 & EM]

and he brought up that Japan came out with an "acura" nsx. so both honda and acura was released over there.

i can't find anything about it at all - i figure nsx enthusiasts would probably know more about it.

can you tell me anything?

 

As far as I know, the Acura brand is exclusive to the North America and Hong Kong markets. However, I've heard about NSX owners from Japan converting their Honda NSX to Acura NSX (the opposite of what some folks in the US do).

 

Ojas is correct. No car has ever been sold as an Acura in Japan. However, there may be some owners in Japan who have switched parts with US market parts with the Acura emblem.

 

actually some japanese people DO have Acura instead of honda...with left hand driver seat and all that. Not sure where they got it...reverse import I guess.

 

So ironic life can be... we try to be JDM... and they try to be USDM... haha... either way you look at it, under the hood u will always find HONDA!

 

lol I don't know why they would want USDM...Japan gets the good stuff anyways....
