Default Looking for scales in the AZ area...

Anyone have access to a set of scales? I know that the number of H-T member racecars in the AZ area is growing, so it would be nice to locate a set of scales that we might be able to get a group deal on use/purchase.

I have scales but no ramps. We use those cheap 12x12 floor tiles to level them. I could bring them out the next event at AMP or PIR for all H-T types to use.

Would it be as easy as jacking up the car and sliding the scales under the tires?

How would you feel about trying to do something around the Dec 6-7 event at AMP?

if you're looking to actually corner weigh and everything this is no help, but there are scales at every event you could use just to get a base weight to work off of. They give all the info you'd need but you probably wouldn't have a ton of time on them to actually mess with the settings. The spec 944 guys have to weigh in after every qualifying and race, and they don't mind if we use it too.

But, 356racing, if you wanted to bring yours, I'm sure we'd figure something out and really appreciate the use

Ideally, I would like to properly corner weight.

You need level scales to corner balance your car. Thus the ramps or floor tiles to level them. Unfortunately they don't level the scales at the track as they just want total weight for impound. I will be at AMP the 29th and 30th for the ASRA fall enduro or if someone wants to donate their garage some night and coordinate with Travis to be in town, I will bring the scales. Unfortunately my garage is currently under siege with house stuff.

I'm not sure if the suspension will be back on by the 29th. There's really no reason for anyone to go out of their way just for me. However, I know that a number of people in the area that would like to use them as well. Maybe we need a corner-weighing party? I have plenty of level concrete, but no scales.

Update:

The suspension is decidedly not back on the car, but it will be by the Dec 6-7th NASA event at AMP. It also looks like there will be a good turn-out at this event. Any chance someone has scales that might show up?

What do you have left on your suspension? Let me know if you need any help.

Nothing major. I'm just waiting until the last minute to reinstall the rear suspension because I'm waiting for a box from Prothane with upper/lower control arm bushings. If it doesn't come in time, I'll just put everything back together as it is, since I already did the one thing that had to be done...the trailing arm bushings. Thanks for the offer

I'd gladly donate my garage, BBQ, and a few one night or weekend. I'll be out at AMP this weekend in the tri-color red GSR. Maybe we can arrange something then.

Hey Erik,

I'm driving up tomorrow (friday) night and I'm staying through the weekend. Maybe we can do dinner one night, scales or not. I'll PM you my cell number. See you there.
