Default Ok, having tranny troubles please give input!

Lately, (may be going on longer only noticed it recently) i've been noticing a distinct noise coming from inside my engine bay. It seems to be generally coming from my tranny.

It is a whine that does not go away when I press in the clutch or when im off it(don't think it is the TO bearing). It's always there. The noise varies depending on engine rev speed(possibly a fly wheel). and I can still hear it if I try to when the car is in motion.

Really hope this isn't what happened to Rob(Bbasso and his tranny woes)because i'm having a hard enough time paying for my car as it is and definately can't afford a tranny.

My clutch engagment seems to be the same as it always has been since I bought the car in June bone stock. My only mod is an AEM CAI.

Please help and don't confirm my fears

Thank you

Well, if it's the same problem as Rob, don't do what he did. What I mean by that is still drive the damned thing into the ground despite the noise coming from the transmission.

PM Dan GSR on how much he would charge for the service. It'll probably be very reasonable.

What do you think it could be? Any ideas?

did you check/change your tranny fl00id? Try GM Synchromesh and see if that smooths out the noises.

do you have any grinding or is it hard to get in and out of any gears?

mine makes noise too, but I dont know if its the motor or tranny. Sometimes it sounds almost like its supercharged because the whine is so prevalent.

I can probably have my mechanic take a look if you want, not sure how much he would charge you though. if you and some friends cant do it your self, it shouldnt cost too much to just drop the tranny and atleast take a look and maybe clean and l00b some parts to see if that helps.

Note. I don't know the last time the tranny fluid was flushed and changed..

There's a start.
Don't forget to replace the tranny oil filter and use Genuine Honda MTL.

Bought the Honda MTL 3 weeks ago haven't had a chance to flush my tranny out. Weather has been shitty also and work is a nightmare
