B16 head! Not too hard, at least I don't think. Get someone to tune it for you correctly and voila you got vtec.

Well what you would need is if your going to stay obd 0.
1.b16(OBD 0) head with everything.You can use pr3 or pw0 head.
2.pr3 or pw0 ecu (b16)
3.Cable tranny - best one - Y1 LSD

Best bet is take it to a shop to get the work done right. It's depends what do you want to do with the engine and how much HP you want talk to local shops and go from there.

There are only PR3 heads, no PW0 heads. As for the tranny's, it all depends on what you prefer. A S1 or J1 will give you the best acceleration, but highway speeds will kill your gas mileage. The Y1 will be best for the highway, but you won't accelerate as fast as a S1 or J1. I think most people like the YS1 with the LSD, if it can be found. Search this site, look under LS/VTEC, CRVTEC, or B20/VTEC, you will find tons of info. https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch

I'm not sure but I think there is alot more then just throwing a b16 head on it, you have to run the oil lines for the vtec and there may be some clearence issues with the valves. the all motor forum may have some more info, but do the research first, try search

Both are the same head from a b16 just the Pr3 head came from integra xsi/rsi and the pw0 came from the si-r.The s1 tranny came from the US 90-93 integra and suck. The best one is either the y1 or j1 with LSD.

Actully, there are only PR3 castings. You'll never find a head that says PW0. You can use any vtec head you like (GSR if you want) just use OBD0 dizzy and such. Check out http://www.full-race.com for VTEC dowel kits (a must have) and the rest is pretty simple. If you're going to stay all motor, consider getting some higher compression pistons. As far as valve clearance goes, there's plenty as long as you don't go with some crazy cams or advance or retard CTR cams more than about 5 degrees either way.
