Default Should I do this? 1989 Honda Prelude-$300?!

I was on Recycler.com and I found a 1989 Honda Prelude thats like 20mi from my house and I called the guy. The ad said $400 but I got him down to $300. The problem is that it has a blown head gasket. Now, keep at mind I work at an import domestic body and mechanical shop out here (Auto Mod on Sierra HWY) and this can also be my Senior Project at school. So is it a good idea or bad idea?

300$
Beater?

Are you sure that it only needs a headgasket?
If your sure, I would buy it. Cheap insurance and good way to get around while you sit your primary vehicle

if the body is in ok shape, then definately get it. Replacement motors are pretty cheap

Head gaskets are less than 50 so for 350 and some of your time, you can have another car!

MIGHT be a good deal. But just remember..it is not how much the car costs. It's the amount of money needed to get it on the road. It can become a headache and a money pit.

I talked to my mechanic and he's going to go to Lake L.A with me on Sunday and we are going to check it out. It has around 120K Miles on the engine.

I just know that they come in both carburater and fuel injection..But carburated cars are not as bad as people say they are, my friend has a 88 civic hb carburated and hasn't had any problems since he got it three years ago. It is still a good deal for the 300 if everything else is good.
