i am trying to help out a fellow h-t'er, he wants to get a comptech tie bar, but they make a comptech tie bar UPGRADE for 94-01 integras for $220 msrp and a comptech 97-01 Type R tie bar for $150 Msrp only, I dont understand... if it's a regular integra with Type R sway bar will the type r tie bar fit?, or must i have type r rear control arms and all.

i think the upgrade tie bar has the swaybar mounts as extentions on the bar so you will not need to reinforce the subframe with a beaks or bsq kit to use a 22mm rear sway bar.

the type-r setup probibly leaves the swaybar in the stock location and is just a lower tie bar, in which case 150$ is a straight rip-off...

 

ITR tie bars mount differently. they have a different subframe design.

if its a regular integra w/a type r sway, you'll use a regular tie bar (skunk2, benen etc)

itr specific* tie bars don't fit on regular integras, it doesn't even mount up.
