Default NAPA Brake Rotors look good, we'll see after 'testing'

I picked up my rear R brake rotors from NAPA today. They look pretty nice! 17.99 ea. and lifetime warranty, including against warping. These are for a 97 Prelude. Says Made In USA on the box. Nothing on the rotor except numbers, but all in US fonts and inches! Thickness is laser cut in to outer edge of rotor. Cool! :edit: Sux, Prelude is not the right rotor! Close, but slightly too thin.

I checked the Legend 94 Coupe (28mm) rotors. Same thing, 25.99.

I'll post up some pics and the part number later tonight. Looks plated, nice finish, but probably just polished steel. Looks like stainless if that is the case, but who knows what grade. We'll see. On the fronts, inside and rotor fins, but not the hat, looks powder coated or painted grey metallic. There were no detailed specs available, so I can't confirm anything other than 'stainless steel'.

Autozone and Schuck's (Kragen and the like in So Cal, elsewhere), have the exact same thing (took them out of the box and checked). They seem to be something new, as the clerks at both places said they looked a lot nicer than the past stuff. They also said they used to be guaranteed 'made somewhere', but did not come in Made in USA boxes before.

They are being sold as the low end models of Beck Arnley and others. They all offer 'PG' or Pro Grade (more expensive) models, at up to $70 fronts, and $56 rears, each. I couldn't find any documentation to say why the PG's were better, other than being 'machined' instead of 'full cast'. I plowed through all their books too.

Machined is supposed to have a thinner, stronger hat, and be closer to OEM. The cheapo one's I got look exactly like the 'machined' one's, and the stock one's.

Test report after a few days of thrashing.

ive used napa bottom of the line rotors for a good while now. i had a friend that worked at napa for a while and he and a few other emplyees told me that the bottom of the line rotors are actually brembo blanks. ive never had any problems with them warping or anything so i keep using them.
