Default New CRV, New Engine, New Swap options?

Just read a part of this months Popular mechanics. The 2003 CRV, based on the civic chassis(key item), has a new 2.4 liter engine with 10 percent more power, and 22 percent more torque then the previous engine!

That adds up to:
160hp
162ft-lbs !!

Now the questions come.

1. Is the chassis based still on the 6th gen civic? Or the new 7th gen?

2. If it is the 6th gen....is the engine still based on the "b" line of engines? If so, it should be swappable into 6th gen civics.

3. If it is based on the 7th gen civic.....the New 2.4 should fit in the 7th gen civic?

A 6th or 7th gen engine with 160hp, and 162ft-lbs would FLY! If only I had the money I would think about doing one of the first 7th gen civic swaps!

One thing I can do is research......I am going to get to the bottom of this.

Questions, comments?

honda's really doing really well with all their new engines...their reversing it from their original motors and making more and more power...for the next generation...throw that motor in a 01' civic...and then the new SI hatch is coming too...damn!

It seems to me the 2.4 is probably based on honda's new K line of motors.....that would most likely mean the RSX type-s and RSX type-R heads would fit on....can I say massive torque and killer top end power? I am starting to like the look of the 7th gen civic,if only it were fast.......And with the new Si looking like it will have only 160 hp with 130ft-lbs....a 7th gen with a new CRV/i-VTEC will blow it out of the water!!!!

Damn straight, I'm looking to sell my 89si and build a 90-91 b20 hatch -- 160+ft/lbs of torque is more than I could have dreamt for!

Every time I think I'm done with hondas, something rekindles my love for driving them...

I just can't get bored of hondas.

Today at work I was checking out a 98 CRV we sold. The front suspension uses the same looking lower arms, and sway bar as the 99-00 Si.....I am wondering if it would bolt on to a 6th gen civic....also I noticed the CRV has some huge brakes up front...I bet they would bolt on too....except they are five lug, but I sure would like to have some 5lugs on my civic......hmmmm....

....the brain continues turning..... ...what next.
