Yeah the Type 1 Racing is like $650 + shipping correct? Thats too much for me
Also, from the vid on http://www.randdmotorsports.com , it sounded too loud and covered up the sounds of the engine and such.
Is the Skunk2 a good exhaust? Power and such?
How loud is it compared to the Apexi N1, or Greddy EVO?
Thanks

I apologize then. You should be able to find any of these for under 500 bucks. I got my Apexi Dunk exhaust for 300 bucks to my door from a fellow HT member. Sometimes the difference in money would be a deciding factor if you could find any for sale in the classifieds forum.

Yeah no joke...my friend Mike (who00knows) on this board...he has a B16 with a Buddy Club specII or III (whichever one that is pretty much just a straight pipe) and that thing is LOUD.

A search would have yielded many answers but here it goes. My "Magnaflow" post that you have seen many times already.
Ahhh yes, I remember trying to make the decision on exhaust a few months ago.
I researched and listened to several setups and decided on the Magnaflow for several reason.
1)For starters, their website is one of the most informative. http://www.magnaflow.com
2)Magnaflow is proven in the domestic muscle car market. They have been around for years and established themselves with all car types to produce power, have a good sound, built perfectly, and great customer service.
3) Price. I got my stainless cat back brand new for under $300 shipped. Much better than the $500 of something like Greddy or even more for RS*R and such.
4) When you hear the Magnaflow you will understand. It has one of the deepest mild tones. Just sounds powerfull. Not raspy or ricey at all. Can't hardly hear it over the intake.
I am extremely happy with mine. Even if price wasn't an issue I would have still chosen it, especially after I installed it and seen how perfect the fit and finish is. I've had it several months with no rattles or anything. I couldn't be happier with it. Such a nice tone for a straight through designed muffler.
A couple video clips. Right click, save as.
From a stop into 3rd gear, 4.3mb http://www.twisted-halo.com/digicam/si/thru3rd.avi
A quick rev to 5k from outside the car, 2.2mb http://www.twisted-halo.com/digicam/si/5krev.avi
A couple of the pics make it look like it hangs low but it actually hugs the undercarriage tighter than the OEM exhaust. Mine has never scraped and I sit fairly low. The header scrapes lightly on some speed bumps but thats it.

I heard the Invidia exhausts are the same thing as the Skunk2
The invidia (not GT2, but the one that looks like the Skunk) has Tig welds and such . . . does that mean the same goes for the Skunk2 as well?
EDIT: Also, how hard is it to install/take out the silencer?

Ahhh twisted, you got great taste mang, i got my Magnaflow cuz of the sound too, although since i'm only running a 1.6 d16y8 the exhaust is louder than my engine, but hey, the exhaust sounds great, so it doesnt bother me none
It says on modacar that the Invidia is full SUS 304 stainless, and is Tig Welded
Is the skunk2 tig welded as well? I see the skunk is T304 ,not SUS 304, is there a difference?
THe two catbacks are identical correct? The Skunk costs more . . .
