Default 16x7 Offset +60 fit a S2000?

Just concerned about the offset. Does anyone know what the stock offset is?

The stock wheels are:
Front 16x6.5 +55 offset.
Rear 16x7.5 +65 offset.

It's not adviseable to run the same width front to back. You can stagger them slightly via tire width, but it will still negatively effect the handling of the car. Just something to keep in mind.

if he's running stock sway bars, then you are correct. Otherwise it's perfectly fine to run same width wheels/tires.

If you don't mind a stong bias towards oversteer... sure. You would be much better off running different springs and shocks and adjusting corner weight to heavy front though. This would still mess up high speed left-right transitions though. In other words, you just lost all the advantages in owning a mid-engined car.

I forgot to quote what munkee replied, but I said his statement was correct in the begginning of my reply however there is the condition of sway bars and overall suspension tuning.

You can tune the coilovers only to a certain degree based on contact patch, that's when sway bars need to be implemented. On a race car application, it can be advantagous to run same width tires all around; it has NOTHING to do with the car having 50/50 weight distribtion or having the characteristics of a mid-engine car when it is in fact a front engine with the weight towards the front axle, not the rear axle.

The king motorsports/mugen s2k ran at laguna seca 2 years back with the same width tires front and rear with no issues or "lost advantages" compared to the factory stagger configuration. Many other race cars that had factory stagger setups that switched to same width tires front and rear didn't lose anything either. But we're talking about track applications and not street applications here.

Again I'll repeat myself if stock sway bars are being used in this application, it would be a handful to control the car but if aftermaket adjustable sway bars are being used, you wont lose all the advantages of the stock set-up and it's very do-able on the street.

vapor,

I think that it's important to note that the King Motorsports car had both the Mugen front aero package and the Mugen rear spoiler with a lot of downforce tuned into it. I was just talking with both of the drivers of that car a couple of weeks ago about that very event and about changes to make in my car to get the rear to stick a little better.

BTW, I went to your site but did not see the under-trays pictured, listed or priced.

Sorry but that is my friend's site. For more info on the underpaneling...please go here: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/...61260

In terms of the "best setup" it all depends on your driving habits, everyone is different and likes their cars to do different things...however we all want it to be the quickest around a turn...so each set-up is tailored to the driver's wants and needs. I too have struggled with getting the rear end planted but I'm a strong activist against BAUW (big *** ugly wings) as they slow you down and create drag but at the cost of going faster around a turn...or should that be the other way around I don't think the solution to getting the rear end planted is to get a wing.
