Default JDM hood not lining up.

Has anyone had any problems with their JDM hood latch being 2" away from the release? Are the JDM latches the same as the USDM?

The ZC hoods will bolt onto USDM front ends.

SiR hoods will not...the latch would be, oh...2", from where it needs to be.

okay ********...are you trying to bolt an SIR hood to a USDM front end? Because trying that will cause the exact problem you're describing

He is right. You need the fenders, headlights, hood hinges and some other poop to make it work right.

I have the JDM bumper, headlights, filler, radiator support, and from what I was told you don't need the fenders. I do not have the hinges though, I didn't think I needed those as well.

Sorry Davens, it's early for me and I was up til 2AM this morning trying to get this thing right, my comment earlier wasn't neccesary.

The only difference I noticed about the JDM vs USDM radiator support was the hole for the stock air intake box, correct me if I'm wrong.

Home Skillet you're absolutley right.

you dont need the fenders, and the rad support is the same except for the air intake.

its the front cross support.. its "back" on the USDM CRX than the JDM. i had to modify stuff to get it to work. I moved the latch back, and moved the latch forward and shimed the rad support forward

i have a link.. check it out

if you have any questions, let me know!

You were saying? No mods to put the ZC hood on my USDM CRX. That is the point I was making.

And after davens said it will work, you said:

Which doen't make sense unless you thought he said it would not work. So, after all, reading comprehension DOES own you. So does writing, because your rehtorical question makes no sense. You even quoted him.

To review:
davens - it does work
you - you are wrong, it works, see pic
90crxSi - davens said it works
you - no it works, i had a pic

hey sure thing man.. i remember when i was researching this, i was getting a bunch of different stories of how to make it work. 2 suggestions were correct. 1 person used nothing but washers to shim the rad support forward, the other person said to just cut and slide the latch back on the hood. both became noticeable, and i didnt like that soo much, so i comboed the 2 and modified the latch to make it be more subtle.

If anything doesnt make sense, let me know and i will do what i can about explaining it better post pics when you get it done!

i happened to get my JDM front clip off a EF1. Those radiator supports are perfect and are much wider to compensate for the 2 inch gap. I hear that the support off the EF2 also works perfectly. There is a pretty noticable difference between the EF9 rad. support and the EF1/2. When i installed my friends front end, he got an original EF9 one and i bolted it up without using washers/spacers, but instead i just bent (very carefully) the middle section, where the latch is, out as far as needed with my handy 5lb. sledge.

This was my solution. Extending the radiator support with washers like EF_LSVtec, but using the USDM radiator support.
