I am about to h22 install. Give me some help!!!!!!!!!
I am about to do this swap in a month. My last diy sucess was when i did my timing belt and seals. I have confidence i can pull this swap off. I have a 94 ex accord. What information can you give me that would be helpfull during this swap.I wanna be able to know everything i can about this before i do it. Also I saw a cd on ebay that you can buy for accords that shows you about the h22 swap. Has anyone used this.
for info on the h22 swap, you might try http://www.accordinglydone.com in the tech section. Free is good.
congrats on the t-belt job. wanna sell that long-block?

me and my buddies installed a h22 into my 94 accord over the summer. it is going to be a lot more work than you think. thats how it worked w/ me. we also put a b18c5 in a civic. we expected that to take longer than the h22.....the b18 ended up taking two days.......as for the h22, a month +.........have fun
yes. it's good if you have a 2nd car for these kinds of swaps.
swapping engines/trannies in my rx took me, by myself, 5 evenings. Torquing to spec & reassembly takes a looooong time....and that was a straight FR swap w/ plenty of clearance. Budget 3x your absolute best gut feeling for time and that's the magic number.

why did it take you a month. Someone estimated about a week for a first timer. My freinds dad is gonna hep me through it , he was a mechanic for about 15 years so if i get stuck he can help.

It will take you a month if you can only work on the weekends, which adds up to be about 7 straight days. If you have never done this swap before or you friend's dad for that matter, it doesn't matter if your friend's dad has been a mechanic for 15 years, or 45 years. The swap will take longer than expected and cost more. Simply ask around to get this confirmed.
It will take you time, and you shouldn't rush, when you will install the timingbelt and water pump, replace the clutch and flywheel, the wiring i.e. knock sensor, vtec, etc.
This is just my opinion, but who am I?

just buy what you need first, its not that bad..
we did mine, started friday night and finished sunday evening... all in a house garage with a hoist and normal hand tools.. was our first swap.. plus mine was lx and obd2, so i had more wiring and work to figure out...
just take your time, and read the accordinglydone stuff n..
take h22 , clean prep and replace parts.. have ready to go with tranny on it and done..
pull out old motor/tranny, take off harness, wire it up to new motor and have all your plugs done and wires lengthen.. take driver side h22 mount, shave a tad bit till it fits irght, install,
drop new motor in and plug all your stuff up:
if your keeping AC, just move and adjust the lines, dont undo them where you have to recharge and hook it all back up.
good luck
