And it was the most fun I have ever had in my car! It is like 10X more fun than drag racing.

I guess I always invisioned autocrossing as just going sub20 mph with turns every 10 feet. But the track we were running was about 1.5 miles and I could get into 3rd gear at one or possibly 2 points in the track.

I wasnt really concerned with times being my first time out but my friend (also his first time autoX) got second in his class.

Hopefully I can learn some more before the next time I go out.

The car felt pretty balanced but maybe with some stiffer suspension and maybe a front strut bar or something to help tie up the front end it would feel better. I am always trying to learn.

ITR brakes
ITR rear sway
GC (99 Si rates) with AGX shocks

i see that your from houston, so which event did you go to? i went to the scca one at gulf greyhound park sunday and those pics are not in the same facility.

 

Yea, actually this is up at school in College Station. The A&M car club puts on about 4 of these a semester. There were about 100 cars there on Sunday.

 

Congratulations on your first AutoX. It is very fun and very addicting. Glad you liked it.

 

they don't make you wear helmets when you autox? doesn't look like you have one on
