I just bought a "Spoon" tower bar off Ebay.
How do I know this is a Spoon bar? There are no stamps or logos or serial numbers on it.
Did I get ripped off or a good deal??
Please help!!


There is a small hole in the middle of the bar. But there are no other markings on it.

 

that looks awfully used...I can't tell you if that is a real spoon bar or not, but I wouldn't be suprised if it wasn't.

The seller advertised and sold it as a Spoon Sports tower bar. If in fact it is not a Spoon, then I can take legal action through Ebay against the seller. Ebay also offers insurance up to 200$. So I'm not worried about losing my money.

 

Need a side angle pic to see the thickness of the mount's steel. The Spoon bars have really thick steel mounts (reletive to other bars).

 

looks like my spoon rear strut bar. the rear doesnt say spoon on it. the front says spoon, engraved, on the black things.

you can tell its spoon by the bar. they all look like that, they way it is shaped, esp the ends.

so dont worry you have a spoon bar.

Yup.. that is a real one.. one way you can tell.. just stand on the bar and it won't deform!

It looks like the spoon rear tower bar.

I think the front bar has "spoon" engraved on the black parts. If you got ripped off? That depends how much you paid for it.

Yeah it is odd, but Spoon doesn't put one on their rear bars for some reason. Unless someone is selling a lot of prelude owners knock off bars. It looks like the real deal though. Does it have an "L" and an "R" painted on the bottom?

ywwong - i love the bar man! felt a difference once i installed it, dunno if it was mental tho... But seriously the bar is sweet, quality and looks. Too bad i can't fit my sub in my trunk ne more, but o well. btw, nice sticker. i just left it on.


Yea, it is weird that spoon didn't put a logo or engravement on the rear...maybe because you can't see it like how u can see the front?

is this for the prelude? it has been a long time, but i think the rear mount are opened like a 'C', instead of closed like an 'O'

but the top definitely looks spoon.

 

Hope to not make you feel bad, but I got my Spoon front and rear strut bars brand-new, for $300.

 

That is the FRONT BAR that you are talking about.

 

Actually that looks like the Spoon, my friends got a set front and rear for his ITR...

to make u feel better, my cusco dont' have labels either, but they come with a sticker to stick on it,

u stick the sticker on after u install the bar, otherwise if u do it b4 hand, yoru sticker mabe facing downwards or towards teh back

why do u ppl have to get stuff from eBay? it totally not worth the risk, you can find these stuff new with a lil more money, it is safer and u don't have to worry!

 

well, usually it has a bowl shaped end that will hold your soup or cereal, then a handle. Sometimes it can be plastic, or silver, or wooden... most any substance can be turned into a spoon.

Now, if you're looking for a spork, that's a different story.

 

Jacques, where did you get those spoon strut bars for that price? Thats a good deal!
