hmotorsonline ripped me off...it was only for a tranny, but still. The guy flat out lied to me several times. They're not as golden as everyone makes them out to be.

Inlinepro in No. Va was selling motors for awhile...not sure if they're still in it

No one was looking for an explanation...all he needs to know is that there are unhappy customers out there. I've posted my experience enough times that it's hardly worth my time to keep doing it.

*clipped from the last time I posted it**************************
I needed a 89-91 ZC tranny in a hurry. Hmotorsonline had them in stock and a good price. They're reputation on all the boards seemed really good so I called to order a ZC tranny on a Thursday. I got a hold of Steve. He wasn't in the office but quoted me a price and some details.
He took my number and said he call me back in an hour to take care of details. Never called. I left a message Friday morning and tried a couple times later in the afternoon. No luck. No contact all weekend. Monday was a holiday. He finally answered the phone on Tuesday.
I said I wanted two trannys at the price he quoted. The original conversation included intermediate shafts in the price...now they were extra. I chalk that up to possible miscommunication. Then he says they will ship COD. I ask to use a credit card but he says they don't take ccards below $x amount. But both trannys are within $10 of his limit. I get the standard sorry, gotta be COD.

COD means someone has to be home to pay. I'm single and no one is here during the day so that means I have to arrange to be here when it arrives. I'm irritated enough that I change the order to just one tranny. I need the first tranny bad but this guy isn't getting anymore of my hard earned dollars.

I was very specific...I wanted a 89-91 tranny. He says it'll ship that coming Friday. 3 days away? I need it quick...he won't budge. I explain the difficulty with COD and want a tracking number so I can plan on being home from work the day it's scheduled for delivery. He says to call that Friday and he'll give me a tracking number. He did say it takes 4-5 days to ship from Cali to Texas.

Anyway, I call Friday...no answer, no return to my message. I try again Monday and Tuesday, same results. I give up, assume it'll be there Thurs or Friday. I stay home both days(all frickin day) and wait with cash. No tranny. I call Monday. No answer but his vmail is full. I try again Tuesday...the number is disconnected. Still no tranny. I keep calling through the week...btw, he didn't reply to emails either. I finally got a hold of him a week later. He's out of the office but he can call me back in a few minutes with the tracking number...yeah right, this sounds familiar. I wait a hour and start calling again. He doesn't answer or return the message I left.

At this point, I say eff it. It's COD..I won't be home, it'll go back and he has to pay double shipping. I thought it probably never shipped anyway. I order another tranny from Jspecjdm...that went much smoother.

Anyway, I'm expecting delivery of the jspecjdm tranny. My Dad happened to be visiting. While I was at work, a tranny shows up. The delivery driver wants his money and there's an envelope with the companys name on it on the table by the front door. I had mentioned the cash was for a COD delivery but I never told my dad I had changed my mind. So he hands over the money and there's my tranny. I get home and see who it's from and groan. Can't blame my dad for trying to be helpful. The jspecjdm tranny showed the next day, btw.

So I open the box up...it's a frickin '88 tranny! Useless to me. And the shipping origination date was for four days earlier. It took him three weeks to ship the damn thing and it's not even the right tranny.

Sidenote...he charged $125 for shipping. I have since shipped the same size/weight tranny back to central California for $55 plus maybe $20 in packing material. So he's not exactly economical on shipping.

So I call him up...no easy feat. He flip flops around...he's got two plans but his conversation never crystallized on one or the other:
1. I pay $100 shipping for a replacement. (I'm not paying shipping on his mistake)
2. Ship this wrong tranny back(at my expense) and he'll ship a replacement. (uh, so he has the wrong tranny back, I'm out shipping x2 and sitting here waiting for a replacement based on his "reliable" word.) Then out of the blue, he makes a big deal about getting back the starter that came with it. Now, I'm so disgusted with his solutons to his own mistake, I give up and hang up. I've got the jspecjdm tranny anyway.

Yeah, we're just talking a tranny but based on this experience, I won't buy anything from this clown. He either lied to me or is grossly incompetent...neither qualities I look for in potential purchasing transactions.

Happy now, John?
