Default slashed top: did you have an alarm?

For those who got their tops slashed. Didnt you have a alarm with proximity radar? I thought the s2k came with a alarm standard?

S2000's do not come standard with an alarm. They do come with keyless entry though with a panic button.

A proximity sensor probably won't do much for a convertible. Slashing a top is quick and you can just reach in and grab what you want in a few seconds. The only thing a proximity sensor does is is annoying and put more attention to your car. I wouldn't want my S2000 chirping every time some kid walked by it. It would probably make him want to damage it more.

FWIW - I'm getting an alarm with a pager system and a motion detector inside the cabin. So I can leave my top down, windows rolled up and I'll know if someone reaches in there. That's what I would recommend for all convertables.
