That big of difference between PM6 and PG7?
the PG7 is supposed to be richer and have more agressive timing, however the PM6 I have seems to run a bit rich itself, judging from the eye-watering exhaust fumes and I do have a new O2 sensor and reset everything. and OH, the PM6 users out there, is your LED for codes on the bottom half of the ECU as mounted or the top half. Damn dealer that sold me mine swears it was from Japan, but my understanding the PM6 is purely a USDM thing not JDM. I haven't had the oportunity to try both personally. Mine runs like a strapped ape with 2.5 catback and CAI and header. with the PM6
i have had a PM6 before on my SOHC VTEC
when i changed to a PG7 i noticed a big gain
so good i went ahead and sold the PM6 to afford a PG7
redline went for me from 6800 to 7200
i noticed a better pull from my butt dyno from 5500- til 7200 compared to the PM6
i say go for it... i love it..
the only thing i regret about the PG7 is that it can not be chipped...
as for your case the PG7 is for the USDM version of the ZC (D16A8/9)
IMO u would be having the best and more appropiate ecu for that matter

THe PG7 can be chipped, but like the PM6 it depends on what year it was made. the newer ones can be but its the 89 year ones that some can be and some can't. '88 ecus for the most part can't be chipped.
we dyno tested both ecu's and my PM6 (90 Si) gave me more horsepower and torque, also ran richer. you results may vary. btw PM6 REV LIMIT (not redline) is 7200, 6800 cold. PG7 gives extra 300 rpm to 7500.

How'd the PG7 get owned?

btw, the actual rev limit of the PM6 is 7414 rpm, most mis-stated at 7200rpm. How do i know this? I have been working with a friend of mine, Jason Parker, the deleloper of TurboEDIT, and he has confirmed that the actual value coded into the rom is 7414 rpm for the hot rev limit.
