Default accord 96 swap or turbo

i dont need ppl ppl talking trash here im jus asking for your thoughts

i have a 1996 honda accord lx.i was think if it would be better to get a h22a swap or turbo my f22 motor. i know that to turbo my motor i would have to prep my engine, now i have 4000 to spend. what would be cheaper and faster for my car. to add to my problems i have 105k on my f22 but with a rebuild would that help? please let me know what u guys think

of course the f22-T will be alot quicker, but the only problem is reliability. I always wish I could turbo my F23, but then I think..

"**** i didn't buy this thing for speed. I bought it because it was one of the all around best cars I could afford at the time without having a payment"

Thats probably why most of us bought accords/mines a CL, and then you just change your mind down the way.

My new advice for everyone who wants speed out of their accord is "sell it"

Seriously the problems you'll have with turbo on a stock motor will not be worth it. Oh yeah, and go ahead and buy an h22 than probably has 150K on it. I can see those damn japs now.....

"haha stupid american buy motor with lota miles, but think it only has 35k on it. hahahaha"

I did the H22 swap, and I have no regrets. As for the f22 Turbo setup being faster, Without fully rebuilding the f22 I highly doubt that it would be faster than the H22. I was running a 75shot on my f22 last yr and my best time at the track was a 15.6 This yr all motor with the H22 set up (mild mods) My best time is 14.6, The 75shot I believe is the same as about 8-10 pounds of boost. I'd do the swap, U can always put a turbo on the h22 when U have the money later.

I went with the turbo route. I'm pretty sure I am putting down way more power than a stock H22. I need to head to the dyno but I'm totaly happy with my car. It also grabs a lot of attention (if you like that).

what a joke!!! any f22 even on like 6psi will completely rape a bolt on h22!! on stock internals!!! 10-12 psi and it won't even be funny!! If you couldn't break 15 with a 75 shot you suck at driving! I know plenty of f22's with 75 shots running mid 14's!!! A 15.6 with n2o is pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dude you are such a moron. Any turbo F22 untuned at 5psi would walk an H22 Accord. Its a proven fact. the H22 is reliable and a good builder but the F22T would make an assclown out of an H22'ed accord.

i did a custom turbo setup for around 2 grand but i have some friends that own shops and stuff. But that doesnt include new clutch kit and stuff i didnt need, but i like extra crap around. A reasonable kit can be peiced together for minimum cash but dont be too cheap.

The H22 is cool and all i just didnt liek the power to cash ratio.

Im pretty sure I know how to drive, There were alot of variables for why I ran that 15.6. But ya ur right that was a pathetic time thats why i swaped in the h22. But I doubt a stock f22 with 7 psi of boost would be anything other then a speck in my rear view.

I paid 3250Can for my engine w/LSD, And I believe it was 2000 for install conversion harness, high flow cat.

without building the F22 you won't be able to boost it high enough to do much more than an h22 swap, and the turbo will be a lot more hassle and mantainence. I'd go for the H22 swap, and see where you are after that.
