I have searched h-t and the web for the answer. Can anyone post a link or explain what differs a ZC from say a D15B (specificly). Or is a motor like the D15B or D15b7 classified as a ZC?

ZC its just a code like the rest of the engines honda made
theres 2 variations
SOHC ZC motors are the JDM version of the USDM D16A6 si 88-91
and the ZC DOHC are the JDM version of the USDM D16A8/9 found in integras 88-89

I think ZC means its a water cooled inline 4, sohc or dohc, non-vtec?? Many different varaitions of this i believe. Or I could be totally wrong.

 

Brown Top ZC-for 84-87 3G Civic or 1G CRX Si

88-91 SOHC ZC NON-VTEC like our USDM D16A6 with different 4-2-1 header intake mani and maybe ECU curves-Unknown

88-91 DOHC ZC "blacktop" NON VTEC what many referred to as "the ZC"

92-95 OBD-1 SOHC ZC NON VTEC-never offered here but mainly the same as our 88-91 D16A6 with greyplugs

92-95 OBD-1 SOHC ZC VTEC-much like USDM D16Z6 with different ECU and 1-wire O2 sensor

92-?? OBD-1 DOHC ZC Like the 88-91 but with Greyplugs

96-00 OBD-2 SOHC ZC similar to our D16Y7 WITH the D16Y8 intake manifold (P2K i think) runs different plugs (injectors different and some Distributors look like they run 1 connector

Haven't come across any 96-00 OBD-1 SOHC ZC VTEC yet
These are all engines that have come in
seen them with my own eyes, touched them with my own hands.
