crx si seats swap
I have some Si seats which I put in my 91' CRX DX. I do not know what year or model they were from (I believe they're from a xx' Civic si...). Swapping the rails DEFINENTLY won't work, and you know this if you've looked at the rails when they're bolted onto the si seats. Well, if you can get them bolted in the first place.
Here's what I did:
1) Take the rails off the Si seats, and then the rails off the current seats in your hatch.
2) Take the old rails, and put them up to the Si seats, and see what you need to get done. It is possible. When I matched mine up, I honestly said "no way this will work". What I did, was drill the holes in the excess metal of the old frame rails, to make them bolt to the Si seats. This took forever, because my drill would not hold a charge for more than a minute or two..it was literally an all day affair because of this.
3) Once you get the holes drilled, and figure out a way to moun the rails to the seat, then put the seat/rails in the car, and see how it matches up. When I did this, it was still off an inch or two. 3/4 of the bolts matched up fine, however. The reason mine was off, is because I drilled into the excess metal, which meant I was essentially creating a type of offset.
4) Put them in my CRX again, and all was well, but one hole was just barely off. Being the idiot I am, I tried to force the bolt in. Snapped the bolt right in half. Even with an Ease-out, I still couldn't get it out (so I still have the end of it in my floor..). I ended up just drilling a new hole where the rail was, and tapped it (maybe $5 at a hardware store for the tap). I simply then bolted it in. I have noticed the Si seats seem a TINY bit crooked, almost as if they are facing towards my center console. I believe this is due to the fact I did not use the original hole on the last bolt, therefore it's just a tiny bit off. It's only an inch or two, but at first, it seems like a lot. I have gotten used to it, and I notice nothing different. This offset is apparent when you slide the seats forward..they rub a little bit against the console.
Can you imagine what kind of headache I am going to have when I put new seats in an have to use the original holes? I'll have to re-drill that hole with the bolt still in it, re-tap it..then hope all goes well. Fun, fun..
Because of that, I will keep these Si seats for a long time I think
Oh, and last, pictures. http://www.angelfire.com/vt2/l...l.jpg
That looks a bit weird, but you get the idea...

You can fit any seat into that car. All you do is drill out a new hole for the rail on the new seat that you put in.
I have an 88 CRX HF and I put 90-91 CRX SI seats in it. I had to drill two new holes on the rail it self, one hole for each seat.

Sorry, I did not take any photos when I did this. It is not that hard, The holes are a couple of mm off like the post above said, just look at the rails and when you put the seat down, take a yellow chalk and mark where the holes need to be drilled, then find a drill bit that fits inside the existing hole.
Go to the store and buy the same drill bit but make sure it will cut through steel.
put seat back on and bolt in. While you do this you can IM me with any questions.
I will try to help as much as possible
