Default What cams should I get for LS/VTEC setup "I dont want to rev past 8500rpm"

I have LS/VTEC set-up with type-r pistons, shotpeened ls rods, crower head package, type-r cams, port n polish, etc. I dynoed 176whp and 137lbs torque. I am looking for cam that will get me to the 190+ range without having to rev past 8500rpm any suggestions. Motor was assembled by John Brown Racing.

well, most big lob cams make power up in the rpm range... maybe some toda B's or some EF-1 cams would be better for you.... talk to Rocket on this site... he's from EF-1... he'll help j0o *** out

anything big is gonna make power gains, why the hell don't you wanna go past 8500? it is hella fun spinning like 9500-10,000

The Skunk2 Stage 1's are a pretty decent mild cam and is quite affordable...
They peak at around 8k to 8200 so there really isnt much of a need to rev past 8600 with them...
Just look for a cam that doesnt have a whole lot of duration

Im on the same boat as you, I'm looking to get sk2 stg1 over CTR cams for the simple fact of making power b4 8500.

Is your motor tuned, with your setup, you should be around 200 whp, In fact over if running right. go look at importreview.com and look at the "ls/vtec built the right way." Also check out some dyno charts there too...

Here is my friends dyno of his ITR motor.. The lower numbers are 2001 ITR cams and the higher one is Skunk2 Stage 1 cams........

JDM ITR block with 11.1 compression... ITR valvetrain with Skunk2 Stage 1 Cams, no porting at all....

These cams are just what you're looking for..
