Default H22 shifter cables and exhaust piping

anyone make a heat shield or someting to cover the sifter cables under the car the exuast piping isn't very far from the cables...my cables are zip tied and routed as far away as I could and are not sagging at all...I was just thinking the heat and cables might not get along to well???

Just make something yourself, I mad a little box the out of 1/16" steel plates and cut to fit, then welded it up and bolted it to the car. I have seen others on this board that used peeled back soda cans!

You might want to get the heat shiled off lude and modify it, they have a stock one that covers the shift cables. MOre than likely you'll have to do what H22EK did, thats what I'm gonna do when I do my swap.

im in the same process as you are man. i just modified the hole for the shift mechanism but havent doen the one for the cables to come thru. i was thinking of just wrapping the cables with some heat resistant material. im using the 95 accord mechanism, will that fit in my 92 eg properly? i tried putting the console over the linkage and its a little too big.

u should not need to wrap the cables. i gess u can if u want, mine arent wrapped, and i've had no problems with them ever, and i've had the swap done for well over a year.

You should not have to wrap or cover them, they should be pulled tightly and secure.

Here is some pics of my cable routings:

well no insulation with just carpet and seats, tin can in the cold is like a meat locker. Remember the trip from Idaho? LOL........Well your side isn't as bad but you need to plug that hole on passengers side with the cold air coming in when your driving it sucks

Every time I drive the car in the winter I wish I had a heater, but in the summer I don't mind J/K. Its not that bad. I just bundle up and **** like that kid in the Christmas Story.

haha, I totally agree. I wish I had a heater, but it's not too bad. Gets decently warm in it. I don't really mind it because I won't be in Utah long so it's not really worth installing one.

Yeah Brandon, but you might be coming to Texas, and its a completely different kinda cold down here. Horribly dry windy cold. But the cars run great none the less, so I'm happy.
