How should I sell off my integra project?
I've 100% decided to get rid of the Integra and go with a street legal car (either a 1991-1993 Nissan S13 240SX SE coupe or 1988-1992 Mazda RX7 GTU/GXL 'coupe'). How should I sell off the Integra - as a SOLO II EP class legal chassis or totally finish it up to turnkey status? I'd figure a chassis + piecing out all the other items would be better and lose me less money, but would there be a demand for an extremely gutted G2 Integra shell with suspension?
Current configuration I'm considering for the 'chassis' sale looks like this:
- 90GS automatic Hatchback lightened up body (doors gutted, hood gutted, entire interior/sound deadening removed, gas tank removed, ABS removed, Power Steering removed - non-ABS brake system conversion and manual steering rack installation to be completed before selling)
- eibach front strut tower bar
- Prothane 'full' bushing set
- Ground control coilover set with Tokico Illumina's (have 450lb/in 2.5ID, 7" length springs for front - need to get springs for rear)
- JAZ fuel cell with aircraft style filler cap (NOT SCCA/NASA legal for road racing)
- original 14x5.5 acura alloy wheels
- 2 Kirkey Intermediate Light Weight model seats (the 8lb ones)
Items that will definately be sold seperately are the rebuilt stock engine, 'racing' transmission (J spec cable tranny with Quaife ATB differential), Holley High output inline fuel pump, Kosei K-1 racing wheels (white, 15x7, 38mm offset), ACT-Pro lite flywheel, and autometer guages. Possibly the Holley 900 commander engine management system too (might just keep it though...)
I'm undecided whether a welded in rollbar + mounted seats is a plus or minus, being that driver seating position is the determining factor there.
Vracer111, who would like any advice on how to best sell a racecar project.

I wish I had stopped while I was ahead and thought hard about it when my Integra first died it's last street legal breath and I entertained the thought of making it into a EP class autocrosser, my first mistake. Unchecked illusions of grandeur bite you in the butt...
Vracer111, who would have never started this project in the first place except for having become sentimentally attached to his first vehicle and not wanting to let it go for some illogical reason ...
A non street-legal racecar is not right for him at this time in his life...

From a strictly financial point of view, don't spend even one more dollar on the project. Racing economics dictates that you will get back only 20-50% of the additional dough that you spend. (Even setting aside the cost of your time.) Unless there is a huge unsupplied demand for EP cars - which there might be, I don't know - it is unlikely that it will sell all that much more easily in completed form. In fact, you might actually have better luck selling the race bits separately. The harsh reality is that you are likely going to get a good reaming on the entire deal so cut your losses and get out gracefully.
Damn, I'm sorry to hear this also. Unfortunately, you may be a little to far stripped for what may be your biggest market - namely the ITA crowd. You might have to market it as a Prod car...
Good luck though!
