del sol stuff on a crx
hey guys, i have a question, i could get a perfect del sol si for 500 the only thing unperfect is the exterior. could i use the dash, cluster, seats, center console, engine, and everythign else onto my crx? it has those cool seats with the red stripe on them. ok thanks
and also, if i decide to swap the engine, tranny axles, liek everything, could i just incluse the complete obd1 harness and ecu? would all the wiring under the dash hook up to my stereo and etc? ok thanks
wow, nice deal bro on that del sol. i love the cluster, and seats of the del sol. it would be pretty tight to put into a CRX, but probably it'll take a lot of work. THe engine, i know you can put in the CRX, it's only a d15b7, strong engine IMO.(but not compared to a d16,b16,b18, ect ect.)
i don't think you should use the complete obd1 harness and ecu unless u do go ahead and swap the dash/cluster/console, ect ect. Can't you just use an Si ecu and wiring harness and stay obd0?
actually if its the Si model the engine should be a d16z6, which is the single cam VTEC. I know the seats and engine will swap, but thats all i have heard of. The seats by themselves are worth 250 if theyre in good condition. The seats dont directly bolt in but its not hard to make em fit. You should fix up the exterior and sell it for profit!
bump anyone id like to find this out asap so i know if i should rent out a spot in my firneds mom's barn so i can work on this b.c im guessing its gonan be a while seeing ive never done any conversions just regular stock for stock engine swaps. thanks

I would not do a Z6 swap without doing a OBD 1 convesion, you might as well do it right and since you have everything to do it, it would be dumb not to. How bad is the body? IMO them seats suck. I would put torn up HF seats in any one of my cars before them. The wife had a set in her crx OMG were them things uncomfortable. We sold them for 30 dollors more then they were worth, $30.
ha maybe i shiould sell them and mae a couple bucks then. so could i use the whole obd1 harness on my crx? will the lights work and everything? or do i have to do a bunch of wiring? im 16 and i can do alot with cars, but wiring.. ehhh. thnaks
Wiring is easy just keep it straight. Dont swap the whole harness that will make it worse. Find a OBD 1 diagram and add some wires and switch some pins at the ecu and you have OBD 1. If you know basic car work you can do this with a little patience.
i cant do that wiring/computer stuff. i dont really even know what obd blah is. i know it has to do with how your ignition works and you need the mathcing computer with the ignition you have. I have all winter from november to may to work on this. im in sports during the winter so im jobless and poor. and have some extra free time that i figured since i cant afford to drive my car, i could just work on it

You are in rare company. I find them extremely comfortable and a large number of people agree, which is the reason you can get $300 for them on Ebay.

The seats require some fabrication but someone on this board makes em...I just made my own (which takes the McGuyver is ya) by using the del sol rails and EF rails (keep in mind it was in an 89 rex)...As for the motor-wire it obd1 or pay someone-it will pay off in the long run.
i can take out/put in a wire harness i did a dx to si conversion already. can i just swap everyhting wiring wi... o **** im really really dumb, i just realized the computer i was going to use was from the del sol that has an AUTO
but anyways can i just swap it in my crx? b.c i dont have the cash for the convo kit and i will have the harnesss sitting going to waste.
ps i found a climate control for my si today that bizzotch is not even cracked a bit! hell yeah!

When we got offered 30 bucks to get them out of my face I laughed all the way to the bank. I guess with people paying up to 300 I must have picky *** or something. Its pretty bony so I need padding.
