unorthodox or ctr crank pulley?
first of all, i dont want to hear warnings about crank harmonics
i am looking to buy a single belt race crank pully, with no ps or ac... and an alternator pully as well.
the unorthodox alternator pulley is oem size, but the race crank pulley is underdrive... i was not really planning on underdrving the alternator, and i am curious if there are long term negative effects on the alternator. i do not have a stereo at all so i dont need a whole lot of power from the alternator while street driving. also, the aluminum race pulley is 2-piece.
is the ctr pulley oem diameter or is it underdrive as well? does anyone have experiences with both ctr and unorthodox, are there performance differences, the aluminum is 3lbs lighter i think?
the price is about $160 for the aluminum unorthodox, ctr pulley can be found cheaper, probibly about 100$ or less. price is not the determining factor, which one should i get?
thanks

I ain't gonna warn you about crank harmonics or other bullshit.
I will however truthfully warn you that Unorthodox's products ain't all that great and far from the best. A good friend of mine sells them machine tooling and parts and says nothing positive about their production, tolerances and whatnot.
Go with something/someone Other than Unorthodox.

thanks, so what would another option be for the alternator pully? does anyone else make a stock sized aluminum alternator pulley that would have better tolerances?
has anyone else heard about this problem with unorthodox racing?

I have the UR race pulley on my b18c5 for 15k miles with no problem. I would go with CTR pulley if I had to do it over.
P.S. Are you sure that is the mod you want to do ? I rather get someothing else.

why would you have run the ctr instead?
what mod for an engine besides a flywheel, clutch, quaife, 4-1 w/ carsound, hondata, solid mounts, cam gears, pe belt? i am not flaming or being sarcastic, i would consider other opinions. however; intake, mani, and tb do not apply, i am planning itbs in a few months. internals and fd are on hold b/c they may not be needed down the line.
