Lost Motion Assembly
well i read Rockets post the other day and since my engine is out i want to change my LMA. now i was told that i should use type r LMA that it was better for big cams.
now then today i was told again by someone else that they are all the same..
im not thinking that is true. he said just to go buy new b16 ones.
How true is that?

I've been running my 99 B16a LMA with big Toda B and Toda C cams and haven't had any problems. While the engine is down is this a necessary upgrade? Never really gave it any thought.

there is a difference between 1st gen lma's and type R lma's. there is like dunno 1mm difference in size from R lma's to 1st gen LMA's. i compared my 1st gen to my R's. you guys didn't read that this is why crower cams were breaking some time ago, cuz the lma's were seizing up from running the more aggresive cam profile. also in response to the 99Si LMA's they were revised and are the same as the R's. anyone can help me out on this one!!
i was under the impression that the difference between the lost motion assemblies is that the type r ones were single spring, and all the rest were dual.......this was because the type r lma's were designed for higher rpm's. correct me if i'm wrong?
im guessing all lma's after 1st gen b16a lma's where revised. i dont know about the dual spring and single spring difference though.I would think it would be the other way around, type R have dual springs for higher reving and all other single springs. i was looking at one of my old ones through the bottom hole, it looks like they have only a single spring in there. ??
