what is the average cost of a GSR hydrolic transmission? and what is the average price if a B16A hydrolic transmission? if this is one of those "beat to death topics" can someone please post a link to that thread.

 

For a B16 expect to pay anywhere from 600 to 1000 bucks depending on condition of third gear and all. For the GSR expect to pay between 500 to 800.

i thought a GSR tranny cost more then a B16A hydro tranny?

no, even with the jdm tranny, the b16 would still be better. It has tight gear ratio that allow you to acclerate more. Some, if not all, jdm b16a tranny have the gear ratio as the itr tranny. i think it is 4.440...someone correcte me if i m wrong

I dont think the b16a is the only tranny that have problems with the 3rd gear. All of them do!!!. You can search the achieve and you willl see.

B16 for NA anyday

 

i forgot to mention that the B16A/GSR tranny will be put on my LS motor

ya, i do. If you goin to stay NA, go with the b16 tranny. Accelerate quicker than the gsr tranny. The only bad part is driving it on the highway. You will be going around 4k rpm at 80mph in 5th gear . Mine tach read 4.3 at 80 on the highway. However, one option is swap in an LS 5th gear and you'll be just fine. I keep on saying this but i have fail to do so yet . Can't find one yet. OH well, hopefully, i'll find on soon and i don't go on the highway that often anyways.

Got mine from a Importhatch, a member on here and a great guy, for 730 shipped with starter and vss w/ about 30k on it and no grind. So that should give you a ballpark price when looking for one if you decided to get a b16 tranny. I have seen GSR tranny go from anywhere from 400-800.

Although both are great tranny, all in all, best NA go for the b16 tranny, it is worth all the money.

i heard about the 5th gear in B16A trannies,but i don't do that much highway driving either,so that works for me! thanks for all of the help.
