Default Help needed on waxing!

Whenever I'm done waxing the car always has this oily looking residue which makes my car look really messed up. I usually get a wet cloth and wipe it some more and the stuff will come off. Dad says its cause I didn't take off all the wax when I finished.

Need some advice on how to avoid getting the oily looking stuff.

shiat what kind of wax are you using buddy it shouldnt be 'oily" looking if you removed it right. try this with ur exisiting wax... after removing the wax for the first time get a brand new soft *** terry cloth and go over it again see if that helps( maybe its just ur cloth all dirty ) otherwise I recommend mequiars wax if the cloth isnt the case

apply and remove wax with hand wish i knew how to use a buffer real well so i dont burn my paint. try the mequiars line they have great leather shampoo. as for the engine bay try and seal off all electrical equipment ( distrib, ignition, etc) with plastic bags and try simple green it works well getting off oil and grime and what not after that dry it off and wax what u can in the engine bay around the strut tower all the little cracks and what not.

It's hard because we can't see it. But if it's what I think it is, two possilbe solution.

1. The rag you use to remove the wax/buff already absorb all the wax that it can. Time for a new/another one.

2. The material of the rag is crap poly. The % of cotton is low. Use cotton rags. I don't expect the average guy to buy thick cotton towels. There got to be better ones around the house.

I'll try usin a 100% cotton cloth next time and see what happens.
Don't have pics but the stuff basically looks like oil on my car. Car looks waxed but looks like I did a crappy job.
