why is it that important to lower your car so the wheels tuck?

lol........ my point exactly
if u want to tuck some wheels put a fat woman in ur car y0!
just put some eibach's on it and drop your car 1 1/2, looks better and handling is much better without the wangsta look that tuckin tires gives u

Hmm, well i really shouldn't be telling you this. I am a firm believer that if your car is that damn low It better be a *%!!^$@ F1 chassis.
OK now I got that off my chest, Baseball bat and alot of prying. lower car down somewhat so you can get the bat between tire and quarter, then pry away till you start chipping and cracking paint. Then step back and admire your crappy hack job that just made your car worth nothing.

i think you will notice that most of the ppl hating on going way low are not from cali. if you wanna tuck your rear wheels just get a mallot and knock the perch off the rear shocks and replace it upside down.

</TD></TR></TABLE>I don't think it has anything to do with not being from Cali, I think it has to do with some people not wanting to lower their car so much that we need a camber kit to straighten out our wheels but don't get a camber kit because our rims are so big that they will scrape the fenderwells, so less tire touches the road and we lose traction.
IMO, slamming a car that low is just a show thing. The only respectably fast things that sit that low are IRL, SCCA, and road racers.

From cali? were just not dumb. A dumped car only means that no matter what motor or upgrades it has I will kick its *** since he will be doing that stupid slow down and turn real sharp manuver you need to do for every bump. It reminds me of a old lady on a sunday drive who cant see over the wheel and is swerving all over. Dont forget no passengers the tires will scrape if they dont already.
not all of us smash on the street.. there are innocent ppl walking down the street.. not all of go so fast that we have to worry about slowing down just to go over bumps. not everyone worrys about autocrossing or dipping turns or handling. some ppl like to cruise in a nice car. some ppl are ok with having a low car that can go fast in a straight line if you know what i mean. and dont forget if you take the time to lower your car right you dont scrape when you have passengers. and dont put words in my mouth .. i can speak for myself .. i didnt call anyone dumb. i was referring to different styles from different parts the county. dont get all butt hurt and start reading in **** that aint there.
Well I dont have a honda that I drive on the streets so I am not one of the idiots driving fast and I see people slowing down and swerving when they are driving at a regular pace. Is your car slammed? or tucking? You telling me I can follow you at a constent 25, 30, 55 or 70 mph or their respective roads and I wont have to hit my brakes for you to slow down for all dips and bumps, road entrys/exits? I am not being a *** but I dont think it looks good and its not practical for safe everyday driving. Their are low laws in states for reasons.
Ahh yes, you can slam an EF/ED and not worry about it, because there are no lips or anything that you have to worry about hitting. I go 25, 30, 55, and 70+ all day long. Your going to hit your town hooks before you hit anything else in an EF/ED so who does it matter so much to do if ppl lower there cars. Of coarse they do it for show reasons or do it beucause they like the look. And if you lower any car more then an then a couple inches your going to need a camber kit. It takes at least two inches of lowering to have 1 finger gap.
The guy is asking how he get his car lower, not why he shouldnt do it. PM him if you want to tell him that.

I have my car lowered about 3.5 inches (or more), at first it was too low, scraped everything, and my SPC balljoints would hit the inner strut tower. Raised it about 1/4 inch and it made a huge difference. I deliver pizzas all day every day, encounter more bumps than 90% of the people i know. Bumps, dips, whatever are No problem for me (except for really major bumps, or when they have those thick *** steel plates in the road), If you gotta slam on your brakes because a lowered car in front of you is slowing down, youre following too close. I agree its not the best mod to slam your car, or the most effective, but ey, fuggin A!

In the SCCA ITA spec, the min height specification is 5.5" from the ground to the lip on the lower rocker panels. This lowers the car approximately 2". The wheels are definitely not tucking with that amount of lowering. Just wanted to clarify.

All those people who are doing the "stupid slow down and turn real sharp manuver" obviously have chosen the ghetto lowering methods. ALL my Honda's get the 3" lowering treatment and never bottom out. It's all in the springs/shocks you choose. Cheap **** will bounce and bottom out, thrashing the undercarriage. I dont swerve for bumps at all...my car is lowered properly. Extreme potholes/bumps yes I'll swerve, but so would you even at stock height. Just stop hating on lowered cars.....there are hundreds here on H-T that do it the right way, have the look/handling, and smooth ride.

i dunno man i never scrape and im like 3.5 inches or more lowered. yeh i gotta slow down sometimes, but i slow down to the speed limit, yes i speed a little. the only thing i really scrape on is speed bumps and then its just my midpipe that hits so no biggy
i guess people in certain places cant lower it much if they wanted because of road conditions, but i know mine doesnt bounce or any of that someone was saying. its actually a smooth ride for me since ive got the 89 accord front struts.
