Thanks guys...
The comp school is fun. I see the comp school as one notch above advanced HPDE, but still no where like wheel-to-wheel racing. Because of this, I will definitely attend the Super-Comp School at VIR in February.
Day One:
1st Session: This session was just a normal advanced HPDE. Go out and get familiar to the track. I did some power mods to my car and didn't realize that I was going into turn 1 about 10mph faster than normal and on full tread Toyo's. Therefore on lap three or so, I put four wheels off. Thank God, I am on stock suspension, I just bounced through the dirt and kept it going. But, for some reason my ABS light came on, so on the next lap going into turn 5, my rear passenger tire locked. Thank God, again, for my autocross training. I drifted the whole turn 5, fully sideways. Didn't spin, but very, close. Also, my oil pressure was a little low, so it kicked out of VTEC a few times.
Came back to the pits, added more oil. ABS came back to normal. (PS=> I have an agreement with DanGSR. He is my crew chief. This weekend, he was my BEST investment. I didn't have to worry about the car at all. He did my pressures, oil changes, swapped my tires, buckled me into my car, kept me abreast of the schedule, told me drink water, etc. etc. I am so grateful. Best of all, he didn't snore !!! hahaha)
2nd and 3rd Session: Each session we had to drive on one side of the track. Track right is more fun and seems much faster than track left. These session taught me a WHOLE lot. I never realized how fast one can go not taking the racing line. Now I know how two race cars can be side by side at speed. A great learning experience. But, in session 3, turn 3, me and this Porsche 944(with a 968 engine) were basically having fun pushing each other. I went into 3 way to fast, so I slid towards the gravel. I decided to straighten it up, go through the gravel, through the grass, jump a puddle, and then finally get back on before turn 4. Funny thing, I was still able to catch the Porsche again by Turn 1. Also, the 3rd session was in the dark. This session was cut short when a Factory-Five went into the woods after turn 9. Get this, he parked it between trees, track right, at speed and NO damage to his car...well at least he was able to drive it back to the paddock.
So the first day, I did three types of motorsports= road racing, rally, and drifting
Day Two:
1st Session: Half session track left, half session track right. This was a good warmup, nothing special, but fun.
2nd Session: Side-by-side. This was the EXTREMELY fun. It is cool driving at speed with someone next to you. I was paired with a soon to be H5 Civic (gosh I forget his name) and I had to let up for him between 9 and 1 and between 3 and 4, but everywhere else that little car is quick. Granted I am on stock suspension, but I was surprised at how fast that car is in the carousel. This session was difficult driving side by side and having to move around to let traffic through. Also, some instructors were purposely messing with us to try and make us nervous. That was cool and fun.
3rd Session: Passing. We honestly didn't do this correct. We were told to pass in 1,3,5, and 10. Basically, we lined up side by side before the turns and passed each other. The only time we really did "REAL" passing was in the carousel. Chris Cobetto commented that he wanted to see more "REAL" passing throughout the session. I think my partner and I didn't want to tap each other, so we gave each other plenty of room. Obviously we weren't racing so we were "friendly." Most likely a little too friendly.
Conclusion: This school was a great school to do before the Super Comp school. If racing is level 10, then I would say that an advanced HPDE is about a level 5, and this school was about a level 7. I figure the Super Comp school is a level 9. So, I think I am doing a good transition so that I can be safe and somewhat competitive on the track.
Next steps: Suspension...so I have to re-learn my car again...but I should be faster. See you all next year !!!

This is EXACTLY why I have DanGSR with me. I am mechanically challenged. I can do some stuff, but I am not really good at fixing cars. So, Dan got some good radiator type hose at Autozone and we were set. Now, I need a new PCV valve because I was filling a catch can almost every session.

good to hear.
if you ever get in stuck with something , lemme know and I can lend a hand.
I clean my PCV valve and empty my catch can after every weekend , and its well worth it IMHO.
no need to buy a new one , carb cleaner type products work just fine.

I almost entered that stage as well.
so much smoke the corner worker already had the waving yellow , three people said it looked like I blew something sky high.
days of thunder battle stage completed - smoke was still leaving my car entering T3

Dave did an awesome job under trying circumstances. He neglected to mention that while the sessions are "like HPDE3" they are held in HPDE4 - the Instructor Group. Let me tell you that 4 is MUCH faster then 3. I know my little NA Miata was coming on those poor Comp Eval guys 2-3x a session! How many times did that mad white RSR Porsche (800hp?) come by? Still, every time I came up you guys looked like you were have a ball!
Congratulations and see you at VIR Dave!
