Forgot to ask if you have a dyno graph available and what the cost is. Also, would it be possible for you to post some general info on your 3.5L engine?

I think NSX is a "show" car... not really a car to mod for speed (unlike a supra).

My .02 on it anyways... i still like the NSX...

Just because the NSX looks better than 99% of the cars out there, does not mean it can be dismissed as a show car. By now, we all know a stock NSX outperforms a stock Supra or stock RX-7. So, the NSX has more than enough performance to back up its looks, which means it's not a show car (by the generally accepted definition).

I think you mean: "It's cheaper to add power to the Supra than it is to add power to the NSX." No arguement from me, although the FX500 looks very impressive.

Uh, if you were smart enough to actually pay attention to the video while it's playing, the only reason that NSX looks so fast is because the supra didn't race. Watch it again, the supra fouled.

I likey the 3.5L engine too. Turns out the 3.5L engine I thought they made was actually a 3.3L built for NAWZ. The cool thing though is that it made 62rwhp with a header and stock exhaust. Which means that the addition of a header is meaningless b/c of the restrictive exhaust. Look for even better hp with an aftermarket exhaust and some test pipes. And yeah, I bet it is 15K, maybe a little more.

The reason it's fast is b/c of the 11.55 1/4 time. The fact that the Supra looked slow is not the fault of the NSX. In any event and no matter how you look at it, the NSX still won that race.

Blasted Kai, when he finally resurfaces, I'll make you eat those words.

11.55 is nice but also far from "ground breaking." Wether the Supra was racing or not is irrelevant. The first person to cross the finish line is relevant though.

Not bad at all though, maybe a tad disappointing considering the money invested on the stroker kit though.

Not really. To do both right it's about the same price. The kicker is that most Supra people quote the price for the turbo kit only. Failing to mention the fuel sytem, EMS, etc. Cars are an expensive hobby, period.

You could just slap a turbo kit on an NSX too relaticvely cheap but it's not going to be very safe or impressive without the supporting components.

Like having Blistein shocks with cut factory springs. Total waste.

I didn't say the NSX was slow, I know they're fast, but it is a tad bit misleading to show a video where the other car isn't racing. I guess it would be more relevant if this was a discussion on Supra vs NSX. The first person to cross the finish line isn't relevant in this situation. You're selling the turbo/car, not the driver.

no offense to factor x, but how do you know it is well engineered? Maybe (hopefully) it is well designed, but how do we know that at this point? Has anyone even run it hard for a couple hours at a road course to see how everything holds up? If you have the inside dirt and really do know it is well engineered please share.

Read their website and what it takes to make their motor and how they fab'd/designed their turbo.http://www.factorxengineering.com/prod_nsx.htm Loks to me like they've done their homework.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by nsxr &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Maybe (hopefully) it is well designed, but how do we know that at this point? </TD></TR></TABLE>

By looking at how they built the engine and what components they used first. Based on the specs and these vids it appears to be a well engineered FI option. They've got the result to back it up. In addition, from what I've read, they've spent 2 years to R&D this specific system. Should those criteria not equal a well engineered FI option to you, so be it.

Granted, I've seen plenty of stock 911 TT's, Supras, DSM's, etc. blow up at the track at the day's last session and I still call them well engineered. Well, within reason .

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by nsxr &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Has anyone even run it hard for a couple hours at a road course to see how everything holds up?</TD></TR></TABLE>

Why don't you ask them? Their phone number is on their web site since you're there already. This is the test isn't it?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by nsxr &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">If you have the inside dirt and really do know it is well engineered please share.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I would ask conversely that if you know it isn't well engineered that you please speak up. Is there a reason(s) why it isn't well engineered?

They've engineered out many of the variables of why a few other FI options have failed (I guess that's bad engineering?) which, according to my standards, affords a "Thank God for another well engineered option" and a serious look.

I know what you're saying though, it's not proven yet. I can grant you that. But can you seriously say, it's not well designed or engineered?

I can't (and didn't) say whether it is or is not well designed. I don't know. I am not making any claims, simply asking questions and suggesting that a little more data is needed before claiming that it is or is not well engineered.

Yes, it has good components, but so do a lot of systems that end up causing damage down the road. Is this one well designed? Will everything hold up to long-term hard use? We'll see. Like I said, I hope it is because it looks fun.

Point taken. The verdict remains out.

Still, it looks like a well engineered FI option.

HOLY SHNIKIES!! I just did a Comptech supercharger kit on a clients 3.0l and that added enough to make me smile! What that kit does makes the NSX the same as a street bike (for me) Which is to say TOO FAST 4 ME!!!
The vids that you show was the TCS on or off? What clutch stystm do you recommend for the early cars with your kit??

I'm not selling anything at all. I was responding to, "the Supra wasn't even racing." He lined up, he was racing, end of story.

The whole point was that this was a fast NSX. Bringing up the fact that the Supra wasn't racing is counterproductive at best, moot point.

Tilton racing clutch or RPS Carbon/Carbon.

No matter the application.
