clicking noise = axle going bad?
I noticed today that a clicking noise was being emitted from the passenger side front. I'm sure it is coming from the wheel because the clicking noise is speed dependent. Is this a symtom of my axle going bad? The car only has 40k miles. Someone help me please, its annoying the hell out of me when the windows are down.
if it gets worse when you are coasting, it will be a case of loose lugnutz.
if it gets worse under acceleration or hard braking, it can / may be a bad wheel bearing/hub.
if it gets worse only with tight cornering at any speed, low speed especially, it may be a CV joint.

Loosen and re-torque the lug nuts to spec.s, 85ft.lbs. Adjust the tire pressure to specs. If that does not help, rotate the tires, and see of the noise moves. If it does then it is the wheel. Check the hub cap if you have one, it sometimes clicks.
I took a look at the wheel today and found out it was a stupid nail making the noise. Good thing it isn't the bearing or an expensive part going, can't afford it right now.
