Default What would you buy? New vs. Used

I will be buying an S2k next spring and was wondering your thoughts on this. Can't decide if I want to buy new and have no money for mods or used and have money to buy mods. What would you do. Thanks

I would, but I don't think they will have any MY03s left over next spring.

has anyone actually seen any comparison numbers between the '03 and '04? some of the s2ki people were going back and forth on this. i'd like to drive an '04 and see how much different it is from my '01. also, with the changes that have been made for '04, is it possible to extract more out of the car without losing control of it? i'd want to know how far i can push before i run the dragon and find out the hard way.

Well I drove the 03 and the 04 back to back....ended up with the 04 on the way.

In just about everyway the new car is greatly improved. It just doesn't rev to 9k.

I can't wait for mine to show up.

Every magizine says the only reason the suspension was softened was top help reduce the snap oversteer associated with the first S2K. Body rigidity was increased by 10% and the wheels going to 17's both help but it was the changes to the rear suspension that made the biggest difference ( can't recall exact details right now ). Overall the car is a mor liveable and drivable at 5/10ths driving and more predictable at 10/10ths.

Based on the shopping that I did, the 03's were about 2-3k below the 04's depending on the color and the amount of test drive mileage on the car. I went with the 04 because of the better response down low and because the ride was a little more comfortable. That being said, since the car will be used as a daily commuter car (100 miles a day), this greatly influenced my decision.
