what grit sand paper should you eventually step do to sand with before your ready for paint?

what are the steps on prepping a car for paint anyways??

 

wash and dry,
Remove head and tail lights
Put on stock rims if you have them
Tape off Moldings
Remove rain gutter moldings
Tape off all window trim or remove
remove bumpers


Get a DA ( powered sander ) and start off with 600 Scuffing the bumpers well, you wann paint the bumpers off the car to minimize drips and to get 100%. Now start to scuff the car starting from the roof down. Be carefull around the taped areas. Once it is all scuffed 100% Take a Wet rag and wipe down hole car. Now start the process again with 300 - 350 grit. Once this is done you will want to pull in the booth and finish your taping. you will wanna get a DE greasing Solution to get rid of all pentrating oils that will cause fish eyes. Wipe down the whole car again with a few terry cloths with the de greaser. Now Prime if you have to. Then paint. for more tips or Q's AIM me.
