Passive seatbelt in '91 LX sedan
Ok, here's the problem....On the driver's side, the previous owner cut the belt (where you can detach it for emergencies)..and the motor's "out"....
Seems the motor gets the signal to pull it toward the front, but when you close the door it's stuck there. The motor and "linkage" seem fine because it does move. I had to force it to be in the "car running door closed" position, then when I open the door, it moves toward the front of the car. Is there just something wrong with the signal to make it go back to closed door position??
Also there's a 6 conductor plug that was cut that is connected to the seatbelt retractor (which by the way does not lock up when you pull hard)...What's that plug for??
Although I did install a Sabelt 3 point, it would be nice to have the OEM belt functional. As for now, I probably cannot afford a brand new one and I don't know if I'd trust a used unit....so I'll run the 3point and I'd like to know how to kill the buzzer and light. I can't find anything about them in the Chilton manual I got at Kragen.
Any help would be appreciated and sorry for long post.

Same thing happened to mine. I just ended up unplugging the motor so it didn't get the signal to go forward when the door opened. You will just have to manually click and unclick the belt every time you get into and out of the car. Short of buying a new unit this is the best solution I could come up with. If you have a 3 point harness, why worry about using the stock belts? I just took mine out once I got my 6 point.
