Other than underhood space, thats the only reason...
If it's a road race car, you can say it's for the sake of weight dist.\corner weighting. I don't see why people do this otherwise...I see it on alot of street cars that have no business doing it. Ideal place would be strapped to the front bumper...

ummm because they wanna be cool like the pros? Cause they think that if someone sees that they will assume the car is fast and not wanna race em..

all they would have to do is cut the positive cable from the starter..the battery always has to connect there.

space is the ONLY reason I could ever think of not putting it there

the ONLY reason that I have considered moving my battery to the rear of the car is, so that I can wire up my master cutoff without all of the extra cable that will have to run to the front of the car...
i vote for space in the engine bay , mine was pretty tight until i started just randomly taking out overrated pieces
the abttery is stil lup front for the time being , i dont see a reall need to do it right now

I think for those with the EF or DA chassis the battery is always in the way and causing unecessary bends in the intake tubing. For my DC chassis, I don't see the point.
i moved mine for the space i need to mount stuff there!!! But now u have to have a cut off switch located at the back of the car to i might move it back to the front!!

your damn right about that, although this is a good comprimise with those cars----->

Also if the battery is too big for up front. My optima wouldn't fit in the compartment so instead of mounting it on an angle I put it in the trunk.

Optima makes a smaller battery now that will fit in the designated factory location.

no, a friend of mine made it. its made in the shape of a cross, and the bends are perfect. if you would want one, he could bang out another im sure.
