450+ hp people: Transmissions: stock?
Just wondering what big power people are using as far as the actual gears, shift fork, synchros etc...
i know some people cryo-treat their gears .... (does anyone shot-peen gears?)
basically i'm trying to figure out if i need to do anything like that other than an upgraded clutch and LSD, both of which i already have

I have a pro-drive spool, and the rest is completely stock. I ran my best times below with a bone stock gsr tranny tho. Ypu dont have to go overkill on your tranny as most people may believe. Just get a quaiffe or a spool if anything, and thats usually enough
yeha i have a B16 Tranny with a Quife.
I havent gotten it on the car yet so....
I really hope i like this tranny cuz if i dont then i got to get a damn gsr one.

but ron what do you do about synchros, for some reason i cant keep the fricken things in one piece
this has been driving ne nuts for a while now .i was thinking about cry treating thme , but i dunno yet

does any transmission companies out there adapt our trannies for double synchros?
i guess you'd have to use two synchros half the thickness of the the stockers in order to maintain proper clearances and stuff, in which case i don't even know if it'd be beneficial or worse

Its easy, dont miss/grind gears, Ive never busted a synchro. I dont think its luck, cause i never busted a synchro in the other 9 B series trannies ive had.

Talk to David at H&A transmission, tell him Reid from Option R with the H22 referred you. They build LOTS of transmissions, and offer CARBON FIBER SYNCHROS. I know it sounds crazy but carbon fiber synchros come stock on the 2004 S2000! Actually the synchro has a carbon fiber material as part of it, the whole thing isn't actually carbon fiber. It is supposed to make for much smoother shifting at high rpms. Call them at: (909) 941-9020 , or http://www.hnatrans.com they are VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE.
Nothing broke, Im saying in the 9 trannies ive owned, never broke synchros. The only thing ive ever broke is 1 Diff, and that was after a whole season of 550hp on 25's on a stock tranny.

did they build your own tranny too? how high can u take your h22 tranny now, rpmwise?</TD></TR></TABLE>
What would limit it to begin with, besides engine speed? This comment makes absolutely no sense.

The way the import drag racing is going, honda trannies are going to be a rare item very soon!!!! I heard a rumor a while (about a year) ago, that prodrive was in the process of making a "bullet proof" transmission for the b-series, basically with larger (as in more gear surface) gears and no 5th/OD gear...... anyone else hear that?

Do you know if they can build an H22 tranny with a higher final drive ratio for 5th gear or perhaps build a 6 speed tranny for the H22?

h22 trannies dont like to shift at high rpms especially in going from third to fourth and from fourth to fifth... tried it in my prelude, my old accord and my integra...it just wont shift above 8k rpm
