HELP! how to check timing on B16A????
can i just hook up a timing gun? if so where do i point it at? this is on a first gen b16.this is the first time i have had to check it since i got my motor and just wanna make sure i do it right..

ok this is coming from a honda factory service manual: start engine hold at 3k with no load until radiator fan comes on, then let it idle. connect timing light to number 1 ign wire, then point the light towards the pointer on the timing belt cover. there should be a red mark on the pulley (there should be 4 marks a group of three and one by itself the red one should be in the middle of the group of 3) on a b16 it should be at 16 degrees plus or minus 2. To adjust loosen bolts on distributor counter clockwise to advance and clockwise to retard. tighten then recheck. I personally adjust while the light is on then tighten than go back and recheck, sometimes it helps to have 2 ppl. also if anyone dissagrees with this, tough **** cause its in the factory manual.
