car shacking around 60mph+
Well, last night i did my maintance, rotated my tires and all.
the thing that got me was that, i have 3 good year tires, and 1 yokohama tire.
currently the tires are lined up like this
Good year-------yokohama
good year------good year
before i rotated my tires they were backwards.
Had the yoko on the rear passenger side.
Now its in the front. But anyways, as i was driving home tonite i felt my steering wheel shacking alot more then when i had the 2 good year tires in the front. It starts shacking around 60mph+.
Good year and yoko has different shape threads on them, not sure if that'll cost the shacking or not. Or the PSI's on the two different wheels.
Any suggestions?...if its the two tires being different then i'll re-rotate my good years to the front. Thanks

sounds to me like one of the tires that's in the front is simply not balanced correctly. it's just a lot easier to notice when the tire is in the front than in the back.
although i wouldn't like the idea of having 2 different kinds of tires, i don't imagine that it would cause the shaking.

you just need to get your tires balanced. i'm pretty sure anyway, same thing happened when i rotated my tires. i've yet to get the balancing done though so i couldnt tell you for sure, but that definetely sounds like the problem.
well, today i switched the yoko to the back again. and it stopped the shacking.
But the car was moving to the left while driving. So i rotated back the original tires on the front and it stopped goin left.
Back to the old 2 front tires.

Keep the 2 goodyears in the front. Depending on the tread on that Yoko.. it will defninitely help if not fix the problem to get them all balanced. I'm the service writer for a garage in Houston. We do this all day.
What is the wear like on those tires ?
