1990 accord EX tail lights out. help please.
ok, my friends tail lights are out on her 90 accord EX. i am not around to help her physically so i need to know where the fuses are and which ones to check, or relays to check. thanks

ever think to check the light bulbs them selves? anyways. i have a 92 accord ex. there are like 6 bulbs on the trunk, 2 of which are reverse lights. all you gotta do is unscrew some panel when the trunk is up i belive, and then you access to the bulbs, and you just turn the socket, and it shoudl come out.
if it is a fuse, there are two fuse locations. one is down by the pedals to the left, either right next to the dummy pedal, or the clutch, depending if its auto or 5spd. the other is in the engine bay, on the passenger side of the car.

tail lights as a whole (brake, parking, reverse) all went out at the exact same time driving down the road.... i highly doubt its the bulbs.

oh ok. didn't know all of them went out. well, check the two fuse locations i told you about....or tell your friend where they are.

I isolated the problem for him. It was the little bulb for the illuminated ring around the cigarette lighter. The wire was damaged, kept grounding out and blowing the fuse under the hood. Funny, it's not even on the same circuit as the actual cigarette lighter, it's on the parking light circuit.
Check this out to see if it's the problem, especially if the plug for the cig. lighter seems loose, like his was.
