Do the Magnecore 8.5mm Ignition wires help out with power over the stock wires?
I had a set before but my mecanic broke them and threw them out. I dont know if I should just keep my stock ones for now or is it worth it to shell out an extra $60-80 for a new set of Magnecores? Should I get 10mm?
i rmvd my R-100 10mm a couple of weeks ago and went back to stock. (had them on almost 6 years).
i think many will agree, no reason to upgrade your stock wires unless you have ign. upgrade and/or FI or for show.

Stock ignition will work fine for just about ANY setup you have.
My friend's car ran a 11.3 @ 123 MPH with STOCK plug wires and stock ignition.

do not buy magnicores unless you want to buy another pair after that...mine took a dump the other day and the car would hardly move. Bought some MSDs, but OEM is just as good or better.

if in the last couple years, there are any equally knowledable people as have posted above, that have come to a different concensus, please post any new findings

don't be fooled into thinking your stock ignition isn't good enough for under like 250whp. this belief comes from old doh-mestic guys who sorely needed new ignition systems just for their stock motors. we've come a long way from there in the auto industry, especially imports. just for fun while i'm bashing doh-mestics, in the '80's the lowest V8 camaros had i think it was 170hp. at the flywheel. heh.

try wrapping some red electrical tape around them if you really want. then you can have red/black spiral. show that to your friends and they'll be like "whoa, that's some mad jdM vt3k, yo, where can i get somma dat hotnez?"

I had some Magnacores and NGK. I had some stuttering problems at idle before and the mechanic figured out that it was my spark plug wires. I bought some magnacores and it fixed the problem. And then, just for the hell of it, I switched out to my bro's NGK wires of the same size and it felt even better (as in starting up the car and no sputtering at all at idle). Hence, NGK > Magnacore imo.
