What would it take to get an autocross event started in Augusta?
I did a research paper recently on autocross vs. street racing and a very interesting question came up. There is an extremely large parking where there was once a mall. I was wondering if there is any way to get SCCA (or something, im not really sure ive only been to one autocross thats why im asking yal) and the owner of this parking lot to agree upon getting an autocross event planned there to see how the people in Augusta react to it and see if it could continue to happen in the future. It was really fun last time and Itd be nifty to have something other then a dragstrip here (not saying I dont like it).... just wonderin if any of yal were really into this and could give advice as to what steps to take.
Thanks bunches in advance,
Jana

Get in touch with your local SCCA. The RE (regional executive) will probably have to approach the owner with all the appropriate paperwork (schedules, insurance agreements, use agreements, etc).
Thanks for the help, I hope I can spark something because that would be alot of fun down here in nothing-to-do-augusta. Plus it would give me a chance to get more serious with it, I can't be involved and have to drive 3+ hours every time I want to go while jugglin school/work/and all....
To make a long story short...thanks... hehe
