Default MPFI swap...PM6 VS. PG7...worth the effort?

I've done the MPFI swap on my 91 Civic Std and currently using a PM6 ECU...I want to try the PG7 from the old school Integra since I hear it's got a more agressive program as far as fuel and timing go.Anyone done this?I was just wondering if it's even worth doing.Only other mods are a Konig intake and Neuspeed wires. Thanks in advance!

i wouldn't use the PG7 on your D15B1. it will just run very very rich and stink out the tail pipe. a PM6 will run the engine rich as it is.

on my D16Z6 when i had the PM6 it ran ok and redlined @ 6800 when hot and 6400 on cold....

when i swapped for a 89 integra PG7 i noticced a whole diff world.... it redlines @ 7200 hot and 6500 cold.... and runs rich but hey its actually gives more power from 5500-7200 than the PM6

the pm6 rev limits at 7414 rpm. your timing must've been off or something.

your tach is off. JParker, otherwise known as the writer of TurboEDIT has told me many times that the rev limit of the pm6 is 7414 rpm. I belive him to be correct, seeing as how he has looked at the memory locations of pm6 ROM Dump to verify that information.

I ran the pg7 on my a6. It was worth the rich smell because it offered more power and a wayyy higher redline. Worth it IMO.

dont use the pg7, no good, use pm6 (si) , mah will rev to 7300ish, then start poppin the redline.. but with ur std have u done the mpfi, wring, ecu,si agressive cam (a6), and 5 speed si tranny, the 4 speed will kill u, trust me, evan a dx 5 spd is better,

89 std hatch, jdm vti vtec/obd1,p28,h/i/e, and no tranny..help

an ECU doesnt red line. the tach red lines. the ECU rev limits, and it does so at 7414 rpm.

As i said, your tachs are off. You cant argue against the code hard coded into the ECU ROM.

The Honda tachs are NOTORIOUSLY inaccurate, especially at higher rpms. Being off 500 rpms off is not uncommon. Now aftermarket tachs are another matter...

Thanks for the input everyone...I don't really care to rev past 7000 with the stock rods, just looking for a little more low end as nothing really happens until about 4500 and not enough grip right now to do a swap .Honda Tech recently got 211 HP from a budget boosted D16A6,so I'm sure the D15 has potentional since it's got a shorter stroke.
