Am I Paranoid? (Type R Scare)
Well as you guys know we have one of the most treasured cars of thieves. I come to call it the Type R scare. I love my R and I would hate for anything to happen to it. I am always weary where I park and luckily I garage the car at night. I know that if my car ever gets stolen I am screwed. I have alot of money into it and I know insurance wouldnt pay for everything. Here is where the story continues:
I was coming home today, my usual 11 mile route. I headed into my neighborhood and pulled in my driveway. I sit in the car for a minute or so to let the oil cool down, and then I hear an exhaust coming down the street. It was a late model Trans Am tinted pitch black. I been living here for over 17 years and I never seen this car. He slowly creeps down past my driveway. I get out and give him a stare. I guess he didn't see me in the car so he starts to drive away. He was clumsily driving through my neighborhood not looking like he knew where he was going. I didnt have time to grab a pen and get the license, but that **** just bugged me out. Good thing I am parking her for the winter soon.
This **** just pisses me off. I work very hard to have the car I wanted and the mods I have. I hate constantly having to watch my back to see if someone is following me or scoping my car. I thought about selling, but I love the way my car is right now, and I know I wouldn't get near the price I would want. What are your feelings on this incident? Should I watch my back even more?

Yes! lock it up! I get followed home regularly and if you read my thread from a few weeks ago you'll see . R's are the most desireable prize of any thief.

too many factors involved to try to determine if they were scoping out your ****. easily could have been someone lost. or just as easily it could have been someone scoping your ****. people drive by my house all the time and I just try to get a good luck whenver I can. but I try to not to worry about it too much anymore. obviously I do the normal things like block it in at night or dont park it at some of the local malls, but other than that if anything happens then so be it. Id be pissed but thats what insurance is for. Ive put a lot into my car as well and know insurance wont cover very much if any at all but thats part of the game I guess. fact is until the Bseries parts are no longer top parts in the scene (that are readily available) we are going to have to deal with it.

Ya you are right. I am glad I don't live in NJ or someplace. I dont even drive my car much daily anymore because I am afraid of coming outside and it not being there. Sucks that people cant have nice things anymore

could be someone just lost thier way and turn into a small small to find a short cut.
i do that all the time whenever i dont know the road or the trafic is bad , i just go into some small residential area to find a shortcut or so..
dont worry too much just make sure you park your R at anyway that has lots people around, get a basic alarm whenever going to a pool house or club do not bring you R. it wil be fine

Ya I have an alarm. Unfortunately the new place I am moving into doesnt have a garage so I know I will end up putting the R away and just use it as a weekend warrior. I am so glad I bought a beater.
